Legs up the wall
A restful position with your legs up a wall, to slow down before sleep.
How to do it
- Sit sideways next to a wall.
- Swing your legs up the wall as you lie back.
- Rest your arms by your sides.
Remember
Close your eyes and slow your breath.
Take care
Scoot back a little if your hamstrings feel tight.
Ask a professional first if you have:
- glaucoma, or high blood pressure that isn’t well controlled (head below the heart)
- a pregnancy (after about 16 weeks, don’t lie on your back or belly for long, and twist only gently)
Stretch gently and never into pain. StretchUp gives general guidance and is not a medical device.
