Neck side tilt

A small, quiet stretch for the side of the neck that you can do at your desk.

How to do it

  1. Sit tall and relax your shoulders.
  2. Tilt one ear toward the same shoulder.
  3. Rest a hand lightly on your head for a little more.

Remember

Ear toward shoulder. Let the other shoulder drop.

Take care

Never pull hard on your neck.

Easier option

Skip the hand on your head and simply let the weight of your head do the work.

A good moment for it

During screen breaks, or when your shoulders creep up toward your ears.

Ask a professional first if you have:

  • a neck injury, or dizziness or arm tingling when you move your head

Stretch gently and never into pain. StretchUp gives general guidance and is not a medical device.
