Child’s pose
A calm, resting position that gently lengthens the back. It is a good way to slow down at the end of a routine.
How to do it
- Kneel and sit back on your heels.
- Fold forward and rest your forehead down.
- Arms forward or by your sides.
Remember
Breathe into your back. Let everything soften.
Take care
Widen your knees for more space.
Easier option
Put a cushion between your heels and hips, or under your forehead.
A good moment for it
In the evening before bed, or whenever you want a quiet moment.
Ask a professional first if you have:
- osteoporosis or low bone density (avoid deep rounding of the back and strong twists)
- a hip replacement (deep hip bending, crossing the legs or turning the knee inward)
Stretch gently and never into pain. StretchUp gives general guidance and is not a medical device.
